Ok so Fridays on my blog are now fashion Fridays. On Fashion Fridays I want to take time to talk about something I love fashion wise. Fashion is a big part of my life, I like to shop, I always love the latest trends and figuring out how to incorporate them into my small town life!
So my first Fashion Friday item is Stella & Dot. I am a huge Stella & Dot fan and own a few of their pieces. Their fall collection came out a little bit ago and I recently got my hands on one of their new catalogues and OMG, soo many nice pieces. Their items are little more pricey for fashion jewellery then usual but they are very nice, well made, and ooze fashion! They have a great selection as well, lots of big statement pieces that can take an outfit from drab to fab in seconds as well as some more delicate pieces that can really add to an already great outfit! Soo Ive decided every Thursday I want to talk about something on my blog that I am thankful for. Now it can be anything big or small.
So this Thursday Ive decided to start off with one of the biggest things I am thankful for, my MOTHER.
My mother, Anna, is an amazing person. She is never to quick to judge, she will always listen and she puts up with alot! She has the biggest heart of anyone I know and would do anything for my sister and I! Our family, like any other family has its issues, life isnt perfect, things happen and my mother deals with all of it with style and grace. I would do anything for her and always will. She is my favourite person to play Wii Super Mario Bros with, she is pretty fun to shop with, and she will always listen to all my crazy stories. I love her very much and she is definetly the biggest thing in my life I have to be thankful for! xoxo mom!

Here is what I am saying so what to this Wednesday:

1. Days off, starting to not even care anymore. Rant Over!

2. If I own the same shirt in four colours, looks good and I love it!

3. That I still cant think of something cool to do on Tuesdays for my blog, suggestion welcome!

4. That I get the same coffee for my office people everyday and go to the same place to get the coffee and always have to ask for a drink tray. No lemme just balance these four coffees in my arms and juggle my purse, as if!

5. So what if my car is never clean cause I can remember more times that its dirty than its ever been clean.

6. That I named my coach bag spooky, its black and its fitting!

Every Monday I am gonna talk about my fave make up product. So I am gonna start this Monday off with my all time face MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural! Now this baby will cover anything and everything you got going on, on your face! Comes in a great variety of colours to match your skin tone. Then even have kind of inbetween shades like for when your a little more tan in the summer, which I love love love! I use a Smashbox #19 powder brush to apply it as it does the best job in my opinon. New Fave Makeup Product

I recently purchased 2 of these @ shoppers drug mart and absoutely love them! Its called the Lise Watier Duo Shadow and Glitter. I love them because it comes with a creme shadow (a good one, no creasing) and a glitter you can put on top. And I know some of you are probably thinking glitter like omg Vegas glitter but its totally not like the glitter is really sublte and super nice looking. I purchased mine in the colours: Opalescent, Golden Taupe, and Smokey Silver. They are very quick, easy to use and create a great look. Id really like to get the Pink Strass but they didnt have it when I was there on Thursday!

- If the background on my Blackberry always has to match my blackberry case. Yes Im a loser and proud of it!

- Sometimes doing my make up all up is the highlight of my day!

- I ONLY work out in lululemon shorts/capris/or pants not sure why but they are all I wear!

- I keep an ongoing lists of songs I want to download on my blackberry!

Here is what I am saying so what to this week!

- So what if I probably own more make up than I will ever wear in my lifetime! I needed all of it and with good reason!

- I am a constant utube make up tutorial watcher yet I dont think I do very good make up!

- That everytime I want a new cell phone I always weasle my way out of my current contract - I need the latest one!

- I moved into my new office in January and have redecorated it twice and working on the third as I type this!

- It makes me mad when I subscribe to a magazine and I always see it on newstands before I get it, grrrrrr!

- Today I could probably eat someone's head off because Im sooo grumpy!

My New Favourite Hair Product

So I was in Chatters (Cdn hair place) and randomly picked up this Cloud 9 Blow out Serum and I LOVE IT. Gives my hair tons of moisture, makes it feel super soft, and even helps out in the straightening dept (takes less time to straighten). It smells awesome too which is always a bonus. If you are looking for something to make your hair feel amazing after you blow it out, you should definetly give it a try! It was about $17.00 for the bottle and sooo worth it, probably gonna be a new staple in my hair routine!

- So what if I am probably the whitest person in Manitoba right now, I keep say, yep will get a spray tan next week, hasn't happened yet.

- I have two giant zits on my face that I can't get rid of for the life of me!

- I love the show DC Cupcakes and am totally inspired by the girls who own the shop to own a business of my own (not cupcakes though).

- I ate a flattened granola bar that I had been carrying around in my purse for at least a week!

- I believe the expensiver the perfume the longer it will last.

- I answer 65% of my emails from the bathroom. Oprah calls it multi tasking and so do I! Hey, Im a busy girl!

- That I don't wash my everyday bras as much as I should. Hey I sit at a desk all day they aren't getting sweaty or anything!

- That I have 11 pairs of shoes in my office at work, hello sista needs options!

- I ripped my Minx nails off within 24 hours of getting them done, who was I thinking I could pull off Nails a la Lady GaGa!

- I make total and complete fun of people with Lug Bags but I sooo haul work stuff around in a black one.

So I have been totally lacking on my blogging and Ive decided I want to spice up my blog and do some regular posts that I would do every week. So thus I have come up witth Frivolous Five Fridays. How it works is every Friday Im gonna post five totally frivolous/random facts about me. Its kind of like that 25 random things you didnt know about me article in US Weekly every week. 1. I totally looked up how to spell Frivolous before I made this post as my sister makes huge fun of every spelling mistake I make.
2. Lululemon is my form of crack.
3. I really don't like alcohol that much, I drink it but I don't really enjoy it.
4. I've made at least 5 mental notes to start tanning yet Im the whitest person ever right now.

I was in HUGE need of a jewelry overhaul. So I went out and purchased some jewelry organization holders and decided there was no time like the present to organize. My old jewelry holder was getting dusty, gross, everything was getting tangled, and I couldnt even see what all I had! My new system is great, everything fits well and I can lay it out and see what I have, found alot of items I had forgot about too!

Blackberry's Suck, I think Not!

So we all know it comes down to your own preferences when selecting a cell phone/smartphone. However if I have to hear one more iphone user tell me blackberry's suck, Im gonna scream. Ninety percent of the reason why I have a blackberry is business, and well over half of the world's business people use a what, thats right, blackberry! So excuse me for not wanting to put 1 millon apps on mine and play "angry birds" - Brickbreaker and bbm will be fine for me!

So The Bachelor premiered last night and oh dear is all I can say. There are definetly a few sweet, genuine, nice girls there but there is also some supper weird ones as well. The waxer who was talking about "manscaping" and by far the biggest weirdo was the girl with the fangs. There is literally no words for her. However despite my comments and thoughts I am hopelessly addicted and will most likely be watching every week. Good luck, Brad! Please pick someone this time, so girls won't have to slap you!

Picked up this little gem at the local discount store in town. Its a great 3 drawer acrylic box. I end up taking alot of my jewelry off in my bathroom and its always all over the counter. This little 3 drawer box is perfect to stow it all away in. I love it! What are you doing to organize yourself for the new year??

2010 turned out to be a pretty eventful year for me. It proved to be VERY successful at work. I got to spend a week in BC with my sister in April. I had a great time golfing all summer with my besties. I went to Denver, Co for 2 weeks for work and enjoyed the great shopping there (Cherry Creek oh how I loved you). Life was pretty good to me this year. I hope yours was too! I am hoping for a great 2011 and have many goals/accomplishments for 2011. One of those goals being keeping up with my blog more frequently and taking more pictures. I always bring my camera and never ever take pictures. I want to be able to document things in my life more. Cheers to 2011!

Last night was the premiere of Flowers Uncut on TLC. The show is based on the life and designs of Jeff Leatham. He is AMAZING. Everything he designed on the show was over the top, gorgeous, spectacular. The highlight of the hour episode was the 1.5 millon dollar wedding he did the flowers for, TOTALLY FAB! I highly recommend checking it out!

Always one of my favourite months (now that I dont have to go back to school, he he) mostly because new TV shows premiere! Now don't get me wrong I love the fall season: the leaves turning colours, wearing cozy sweaters, breaking out the UGGS! I haven't had a chance to check out all the new TV shows be these two rank high on my new must watch list.
The first one is ABC's Eastwick. Two of my favourite actresses are in it Rebecca Romign (Ugly Betty) and Lindsey Price (Lipstick Jungle). It mixes the whole mystery meets small town Desperate Housewives idea. I wasn't sure I would like it but after watching the first two episodes I am definetly hooked!

Eastwick in on ABC wednesday nights at 9PM Central time! Hope you can tune in!

My second favourite new show is the forgotten on ABC as well. It's a show about a network of people (volunteers, they don't get paid to do this) who continue to investigate John or Jane Doe's bodies that our found. After the police department has done all they can do to figure out who these people are they pass the case onto the forgotten network and they have five days from the day they are given the case to figure out who this person was and even who/how they were killed. I normally do not care for many investigation shows but this one has really caught my interest. Hope you can check it out for yourself, on Tuesday nights at 9PM eastern on ABC.

$84.00 Lululemon Pants.....I don't think so!

So I totally understand everyone's love for the Lululemon Yoga Pant they feel amazing however I totally question the company's ethics when it comes to sizing. The biggest size any of their workout pants are available is a 12 when the average women's size is a 14, Ummmmm HELLO! So I recently was shopping in the mall and was at Smart Set. They make these amazing Muv pants and they are exactly like lululemon ones and better yet . . . cheaper!!!!
$32.00 - I nearly died. They fit perfectly and feel amazing. To bad lululemon, you probably could have earned my $84.00 if you made some pants bigger than a 12.
I highly highly recommend these workout pants, you must give them a try!

Hello Bloggers, its Monday and on my blog Monday's are dream days! So this week I have chosen an amazing handbage by Fendi! It's the Fendi Violet sequined sating spy small tote. I know some of your are thinking for that much $$ it should probably be a more classic colour in order to get maximum use out of the bag but the violet is soo pretty and irridescent it can be rocked with any outfit!

Now although I am "loving" this Fendi bag, it will definetly remain a dream item for me with a price tag of $2,020.00.

Facebook - Alanna's take on it!

I can't even describe how "annoyed" I get with facebook. I have quite a few "Frequent updaters" as I like to refer to them as. By frequent update I mean this:

_________ is having an apple
_________ in a Meeting
_________ having a java

and this goes on and on and on all day!
Let's face it I think if you need to tell everyone what your doing every minute of the day your definetly looking for some attention and getting it on facebook is never a good idea!

My other facebook pet peeve is all the quiz's that everyone takes and HAS TO POST. Hello people there is a button that says do not publish, how about using it every once and a freakin while!
I don't care what bible character you resemble, what kind of nurse you are, when you will die, what UFC wrestler you are most like, what pussycat doll song best decribes you, what year you will get married in, or which lunch meat looks the most like you. If I wanna know one of these things Ill ask!
Let's keep facebook for what it was originally intended for, connecting with people and of course creepin on other people's pictures (hahaha)!!

The Return of TLC's What Was a Family

So tonight Jon and Kate Plus 8 returns from its 6 week hiatus. The last time I watched was when they announced that they had filed for divorice, the show at the point was more than awkward it was way too personal. Now don't get me wrong I totally understand that clearly the reason for continuing with the show is financial. At the end of the day they have eight little mouths to feed so sometimes you have to do the necessary in order to continue carrying on.
I hope for everyone's sanity that their lives get a little easier and the press lays off on them a bit, remember at one time they were just a normal family with multiples.

Clearly he is only on the show to promote it. Ever chance he gets he remind us all he is a musician and continues to write you songs for us all to hear in hope that his music career will soon take off.
Jillian, do us all a favour and dump his ass next episode so we do not have to listen to anymore of his cheesey music. If Jake knows the name of his girlfriend clearly she has been the topic of conversation more than once.

The Marrying Kind

So I was recently advised by a friend (who yes is a guy) that I am of the marrying kind. Apparently their are three catagories of girls: the screwing kind, the dating kind, and the marrying kind. I was totally obilvious to this till now. So I asked him what classifys me to be the marrying kind. Here is the answer I got, well you always put on a good show, you look nice, you can cook, clean, your great with kids so when guys see you the see you as a potiential with so therefor your the marrying kind. I think I am going to take this as a compliment, Im glad Im not in the other two catagories!
So I am thinking maybe I need to get this shirt, so guys aren't confused as to which catagory I am in!

The Price of Fame = One Family

We all know the story of Jon and Kate Plus 8. Tonight we watched as they told all their beloved viewers and fans that they are seperating. Not only did they have to tell their children this horrible news but they know have told the world and their children will be reminded of it with the taping of tonights episode, tabloids, blogs, etc. I am not sure I know anyone who would sell their family for $75,000.00 an episode. I truly thought that tonight they would share with us that they are quiting the show to work on their marriage and family. I don't think their is ever a price tag you can put on your family, but apparently its worth $75,000.00 an episode to Kate.
I almost feel like I am invading their privacy watching their show. Five years ago they were a normal family with two sets of multiples enjoying life. Now it's all different, people don't change that much but fame can change people indefintely. The only thing that changed for them was free swag, fame, and a reality tv show. Kate said on tonights episode that she will do anything for her children that she has to, well how about quiting the show and giving them a chance at a semi normal life. But in her defence if she was going to do that then she should have done it six months ago, like she said she can only go forward now. Clearly the damage to her marriage has been done so I guess she can only keep up the show in order to financially support her family. It's too bad that in order to keep her family financially sound she had to break them up. I honestly wish their family the best and hope that everything works out for them one way or another. I think the best lesson learned here is no matter what the price, fame is never really worth it.

So I have been going to a so so gym for awhile. Im not losing any weight, I barely go, I am totally bored with it. So today a new gym opened in my town and I decided to join. It's all brand new super great facility. I got for my orientation on Thursday and I got not be more excited. I am ready to kick this weight loss thing into high gear! Wish me luck!
